A Tribute To Mrs. Rosa Parks, a CD project, honored Mrs. Parks and commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Inspired by themes from Mrs. Parks' book, Quiet Strength , and drawing top Gospel talent to revive public interest in freedom which raised more than $300,000 for the the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development.

The Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute was founded in 1987 to carry on her work: Its central mission is to motivate youth to reach their highest potential The Institute's history and accomplishments are interwoven with Mrs. Parks' life as a civil rights leader, a world icon and a private citizen. It has designed programs based on her philosophy of "Quiet Strength," engaging youth in hands-on experiences to build practical day-to-day living skills. Multicultural participation is encouraged to foster a global and inclusive perspective.
stellar commitmentMrs. Rosa Parks reads extracts from "Quiet Strength" on the CD and also appears in the promotional video of the lead track, "Something Inside So Strong". The album is buoyed by the voices of many Gospel superstars including Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond & Radical For Christ, John P. Kee, Sounds of Blackness, Oleta Adams, and Richard Smallwood & the Smallwood Singers.
